Analyze your Spotify listening history

Import Spotify streaming-history JSON files to explore listening time, top artists and tracks, monthly trends, streaks, and playback habits in a private dashboard.

Artists and tracks ranked clearly

Your rhythm

Hours, weekdays, and streaks

No Spotify login, API key, or server upload. Insights are generated deterministically in your tab — no AI sees your track history. Optional track players connect to Spotify only after you click Play.

Bring your Spotify history

Drop one or more JSON files here, or choose the complete unzipped export folder.

Files stay in this browser tab and are never uploaded

Best results: Streaming_History_Audio_*.json from Extended Streaming History. Standard StreamingHistory_music_*.json files also work.

Inside your history

Spotify listening stats, with context

Spotify's streaming-history export is a timeline of playback events. This analyzer turns those records into listening patterns you can scan, compare, and understand.

The shape of your time

Follow listening hours across months, years, weekdays, and every hour on the clock.

Favorites with context

See artists ranked by time and tracks ranked by qualified 30-second plays.

A story grounded in data

Get concise local insights about your rhythm, discovery mix, streaks, and repeat favorites.

How you listen

Extended exports reveal skip, shuffle, offline, platform, and natural-ending patterns.

How the analysis works

What this Spotify history analyzer calculates

Playback Stats reads recognized music records from Standard Streaming History or Extended Streaming History. It uses Spotify's own timestamps and milliseconds played, keeps the analysis in memory, and separates total listening time from qualified plays of at least 30 seconds.

Listening time and trends
Sum Spotify's ms_played values into total hours, active days, monthly and yearly timelines, weekdays, and hours of the day.
Artists, tracks, and repeats
Rank artists by listening time and tracks by qualified plays, while showing variety, repeat behavior, and each top artist's share.
Extended-history behavior
When those fields exist, compare platform use, skips, shuffle listening, offline playback, and tracks played to their natural end.

Podcast episodes and audiobook chapters are intentionally excluded so music rankings stay comparable. Behavior metrics appear only when the selected export actually contains those extended fields.

How to export Spotify history

Extended Streaming History covers the lifetime of your account. Spotify prepares it separately from the smaller account-data package.

  1. 01

    Request your data

Open Spotify Account Privacy and request Extended Streaming History for the fullest analysis.

  2. 02

    Download and unzip

When Spotify sends the archive, download it and unzip the folder on your device.

  3. 03

    Choose the history files

Select all Streaming_History_Audio_*.json files, or choose the entire unzipped Account Data folder.

  4. 04

    Explore locally

The browser keeps only safe listening fields in memory and builds your dashboard in this tab.

Personal data should stay personal

The parser allowlists only listening fields. It never keeps IP addresses, usernames, country codes, search queries, user agents, or technical-log payloads.

Spotify listening history analyzer FAQ

Can I see Spotify stats without logging in?

Yes. Playback Stats does not require a login or connect to your Spotify account. You only sign in to Spotify separately when requesting your data export, then analyze the downloaded JSON files here.

Does my Spotify data get uploaded?

No. JSON parsing and analysis happen inside this browser tab. There is no file-upload API, account connection, or server-side storage. If you choose to play a track, your browser then connects directly to Spotify's official embedded player for that track.

Which export should I use?

Extended Streaming History is recommended because it covers the lifetime of your account and includes album, platform, skip, shuffle, and offline fields. Standard music history is supported as a smaller fallback.

Should I select Technical Log Information?

No. Technical logs contain device, network, authentication, and diagnostic events, not the listening history needed here. The folder picker automatically skips them when possible.

Why are plays marked 30s+?

The dashboard uses a transparent 30-second threshold for its qualified-play rankings. Total listening hours still include every music listening event in the import.

Are podcasts and audiobooks included?

No. This is a music-history analyzer. Podcast episodes and audiobook chapters use different fields in Spotify exports, so the parser excludes them instead of mixing spoken audio into artist and track rankings.

What if I import both standard and extended history?

The analyzer prefers the richer extended records and omits standard-history records that fall inside the same covered date range. Standard records outside that range can still extend the timeline.

How far back will my Spotify stats go?

The dashboard covers every valid music record in the files you select. Extended Streaming History is designed to cover the lifetime of your account, while the standard account-data export usually provides a smaller history.

What happens to my Spotify stats when I refresh?

The selected files and generated dashboard stay in this browser tab's memory only. Refreshing or closing the tab clears them, so you can select the export again whenever you want to rebuild the analysis.

Can I preview tracks from my history?

Extended Streaming History includes Spotify Track URIs. When one is available, the dashboard can open Spotify's official player after you click Play. Playback length and availability depend on Spotify, your region, browser, and Spotify session. Standard history has no Track URI, so it uses a Spotify search link instead.
